Tanima Kazi is a Bangladeshi-born author of South Asian Chick Lit who has called Saudi Arabia, Canada and her imagination, home.
She first made waves with her debut novel, How to Escape an Arranged Marriage in High Heels, a romantic comedy that captured readers' hearts with its humor and relatable chaos.
Her upcoming novel, The Kat Bunglar, releasing May 2025, combines humor, heart, and heist-worthy hijinks in a story about love, chaos, and redemption. When she’s not writing, Tanima can be found drinking copious amounts of chai, browsing rom-coms in bookstores, or perfecting the art of mixing mischief with meaningful storytelling.

For the first time in a long while, I found myself thoroughly enjoying a chick lit novel and identifying with the main character’s experiences. And learning to bridge the gap between South Asian and American culture is something I have always struggled with, especially when it comes to the topics of love and marriage. But Kazi artfully explores that cultural gap through this enjoyable story.

If you are looking for a fun way to spend some hours this the summer, I highly recommend reading How to Escape an Arranged Marriage in High Heels. I found it to be a fast read, but that might have been because I had a hard time putting it down.
